DUNCAN, Ariz. — During public and community reports at the July 15 Duncan Common Council meeting, Joan Johns Billingsley of the PRIDE Society thanked the town for donating lamp-post decorations and volunteers who installed them.
"We really do appreciate it, and thank you to Jill for helping put them up," Billingsley said.
The town manager reported several public-works items: replacement doors and toilets at the park bathroom; removal of playground equipment with new shade expected later in the month; pending permits for a water-line that needs replacement; a grant submitted with FMI and an indicated need for remaining USDA funds to repair a leaking pipe; a schedule from the Arizona Department of Health (AZDOH) slated for the first part of August to complete work; a mural design pending; progress draining the pool; and daily watering at the skate-park work area.
Council members also praised the recent parade and noted the park fountain is working again. No public commenters raised governance concerns during the call to public.
