New Baltimore Council approves wastewater contract, playscape purchase and downtown café site plan

The New Baltimore City Council on May 27 approved a series of routine and capital purchases, a wastewater contract, and a downtown site plan in a meeting that followed a public hearing on special assessments.
On a recommendation from the Public Utilities Committee, the council awarded the WWTP oxidation ditch inlet valve replacement to Teltow Contracting for $31,815 (payment #3—final). The consent agenda — approved unanimously — included vendor payments and purchases such as Biotech Agronomics Inc. ($72,625.75) for biosolids transport and land application at the wastewater treatment plant; Game Time c/o Sinclair Recreation ($95,165.26) for playscape equipment for Parks & Recreation; Civic Plus LLC ($9,866.88) for annual website services; Plante & Moran ($9,655.50) for professional services; Team EJP Smart Utility water meters ($9,780.80); and other routine bills.
The council also approved a three-year renewal for OpenGov software services ($2,966.79), authorized a $2,760 replacement mower engine from Zimmer's Sales & Service, and approved $3,073.60 for Anchor Bay Triathlon award plaques and medals from Bean Bro's Trophy and Awards. The Planning Commission’s recommendation to approve the Downtown Pitstop Café application and site plan, adjusted to a 7-by-18-foot configuration, was approved on a unanimous vote.
All measures on the consent agenda and the separate contract motions were approved by recorded voice votes at the meeting; motions were moved and seconded by councilmembers as noted in the minutes. The council adjourned at 7:56 p.m.
