New inclusive playground set to open by July 4 weekend; board removes worn parallel bars

Staff said activity and safety boards will be installed after contractors finish the primary equipment.
Board members discussed placement of a donor plaque to maximize longevity (avoiding direct south‑facing sun) and agreed a dedication or family fun‑day around school start would be appropriate once the playground committee inspects the finished site. The board also noted that the town will assist with demolition of the old shed and that Chad Carpenter, the newly hired lead maintainer, will help with sign installation once contractors complete their work.
Administration indicated the playground meets accessibility goals and that the district would seek media coverage for the dedication to credit donors and highlight inclusive equipment.
