Council discussed proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance that would allow above-ground pools on adjoining vacant lots, permit sheds up to 144 square feet on gravel bases, skids or pillars so they would be removable, and eliminate setbacks on an adjoining property line while retaining front-yard setbacks. Council noted that changes related to skill games of chance were previously presented and approved.
Solicitor Tim Wachter was asked to prepare suggested ordinance language for council review at a future meeting. No vote was taken on specific language or an ordinance at the July 9 meeting; the discussion set direction for drafting changes.
Council did not commit to final text or adoption timelines; the solicitor’s recommended amendment will return for council consideration.
