The Village Board on Aug. 11 adopted Local Law 02-2025 regulating personal wireless service facilities, following a review of draft text, Planning Board comments and a brief discussion about application oversight and public notice procedures.
No members of the public spoke on the item. Outside counsel Mr. Campanelli gave guidance on implementation and testing regulations, and Planning Board Chair Mr. McGuirk flagged concerns about rescinding variances and consistency with current practice. Trustee discussion focused on who would oversee applications and whether adoption would inundate the Zoning Board of Appeals; Sally Fay of Carpenter Avenue urged better notice procedures based on a prior cell-tower process that she said lacked adequate notification for Ability Beyond Disability.
The Board adopted the SEQRA EAF for the legislation and then voted to adopt the local law as amended; the motions carried unanimously.
What’s next: Board members and staff said additional edits may be completed before final administrative implementation and that notification language will be clarified to improve resident outreach.
