ARP reports 62 hotline calls and upcoming EPA public meeting July 15

County ARP staff reported 62 hotline calls, 445 utility locate tickets and 85 site visits since January, listed recent abatements and sampling work, and said an EPA public meeting on July 15 will cover five-year review results and OU3 status.
An ARP representative reported to the commissioners that the county’s Abatement/Response Program responded to 62 hotline calls, processed 445 utility locate tickets and completed 85 site visits between January 1 and June 30, 2025.
The ARP update listed completed and ongoing actions including interior and exterior abatements, contaminated stockpile removals, a full-house demolition at 209 Montana, and a quick-response action at the Lincoln County Landfill to remove dumped debris. Staff said ARP is providing oversight on port-property development and returning to a Ziply Fiber installation site for sampling and abatement.
The representative also announced an EPA public meeting scheduled for July 15 that will address the five-year review results, public-health emergency status, partial deletions, OU3 status and fuels/forest management updates. ARP said it will run ambient air monitoring at four stations next summer for four months and baseline soil sampling for 10 properties near OU3 so the county can compare results if a wildfire occurs.
The ARP presenter said the program workload is increasing and that staff are considering whether additional hires will be needed if the trend continues.
