Commission reviews PUD boundary request; township reports scanning contract, construction awards and energy moratorium considerations

In Old Business the commission considered a request from Dewpoint West to add approximately 3.3 acres to the northeast portion of an existing planned-unit development (PUD) so the township can place public-utility infrastructure on that land. Per the agreement, the developer would receive four parcels on the three acres with the condition that each parcel connect to both water and sewer public utilities. Staff (Greg Ransford) said he will return revised language to the commission before the first public hearing.
During Township Board Reports, staff said the board transferred the title of a mobile home acquired as part of a township sewer project, updated water and sewer rate schedules, and awarded a document scanning contract to digitize planning and zoning records. The board also awarded the Pierce Street Phase II construction contract and reported it is looking into moratoriums for data centers, battery storage facilities, solar and wind energy to allow time to update ordinances; a collective bargaining agreement with Public Utilities was reported as agreed.
Commissioners agreed that a minor sidewalk amendment in Hidden Shores, Waters Edge North could terminate the existing sidewalk and turn it north. The meeting adjourned at 9:07 p.m.
