The Enid Public Schools Board of Education on Tuesday approved a package of administrative items including updated handbooks, the district financial report, multiple insurance purchases and a one‑time $150 payment for staff who complete required training.
Dr. Robinson told the board the district is "in very good financial condition," with revenues and expenditures tracking as expected. The board unanimously approved the district financial report for May 2026.
On handbooks, the board approved minor edits to the elementary, middle, high school and athletics handbooks. The most notable operational change adds remediation time at the high school by starting the school day five minutes earlier, moving the start from 8:35 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., to create three remediation/extension periods three days a week. Administrators said further details on how that time will be scheduled will be shared with the public before implementation.
The board approved Resolution No. 690 with the Oklahoma School Insurance Group (OSIG) for FY27 liability and peril coverage at a premium of $900,003 (option one). Dr. Robinson explained the higher premium reflects an approximately $90 million increase in building valuations tied in part to the Eisenhower project, which raised insured replacement values.
The board also approved a deductible buy‑down policy through Gallagher Risk Management with Convella Insurance at a cost of $50,100 to reduce the district’s exposure on a $1 million deductible and approved workers' compensation coverage with the Oklahoma School Assurance Group (OSAG) at $410,944 for FY27. Administration said improved workplace safety contributed to a lower workers' comp quote.
Finally, the board approved a one‑time $150 payment to returning non‑12‑month certified adjunct classroom teachers, counselors, nurses, librarians, speech pathologists and select support personnel who complete required Vector Solutions courses by Aug. 2, 2026. Dr. Robinson estimated the total program cost would be similar to last year (about $35,000).
All motions on these items carried by unanimous votes recorded on the meeting minutes.
