Mayflower, Ark. — The Mayflower Planning Commission on July 8 conditionally approved a replat for the parcel containing the Family Market property and the city's welcome sign, and later approved a fence permit for a private property on Miller Street.
Engineer Dylan Somerville (Phil Lewis Engineering) said the replat would dedicate the piece of land where the welcome sign sits back to the city; staff noted a legal description and survey are required to record the dedication in the courthouse. The commission voted to conditionally approve the replat pending verification of the survey and confirmation of what recording steps are needed.
Separately, property owner Jerry P. requested permission to replace an existing fence at 43 Miller Street using stainless steel materials; staff reviewed the proposed design, said the fence would be see-through enough to avoid sight-line problems, and advised the applicant to pick up a short permit form at city offices. The commission approved the fence application and instructed staff to issue the permit when the paperwork is complete.
Barbara, the planning clerk, and staff told applicants when technical items (survey legal description for the replat; lease and recording details for the sign dedication) were provided they could proceed to finalize conditions and recording with the city attorney and staff.
