Cost and funding: Administration said the pilot (five campuses) requires a $6,000 upfront cost for year one; year two annual licensing for all campuses was estimated at $49,455. The communications department would fund the ongoing cost, supplemented by Title funds where eligible and by reducing overlapping vendor subscriptions. Trustees discussed whether to approve only the pilot or to roll out to all campuses at once; after discussion, the board moved to approve ParentSquare for all district campuses under cooperative contract ET221906.
Trustees emphasized uniformity: several members urged a single districtwide platform so parents and staff see consistent information when students move between campuses. Board members also noted the benefit of automatic translation for the district—s significant bilingual population and the administrative ability to confirm message delivery.
Implementation steps: Administration will integrate ParentSquare with existing systems (Skyward/ClassLink) and begin training and pilot onboarding in July; a full-district license will be implemented per the approved funding plan.
