Board members received liaison reports at the June 15 meeting noting two items of interest for local education governance.
The board was told the Local Board of Education superintendent has resigned effective July 1; the BOE has initiated a search for a part-time replacement. Chairperson Michael Nastri relayed the update during liaison reports.
Separately, the Marlborough Elementary School (MES) Building Committee met June 9 to discuss its charge, review the facility report and refine project education specifications. The committee is preparing a request for proposals for an owner's project manager/firm to support the project.
The RHAM Board of Education also is working to reduce its budget in advance of a June 16 referendum, the board was told. No further details on the superintendent transition timeline, candidate qualifications, or RFP schedule were provided at the Board of Finance meeting, and the board did not take formal action on these matters.
