The Jefferson Select Board on Aug. 12 voted to place two ordinance measures on the Nov. 5, 2024 ballot and approved several routine administrative items.
Bill Farren told the board the Planning Board approved (5-0) amendments to the Building Ordinance to comply with new housing laws and had incorporated edits to the Solar Farm Ordinance requested by Pam. The Select Board voted (2-0) to place the amended Building Ordinance and the Solar Farm Ordinance on the Nov. 5 ballot.
The board also set the 2024 tax commitment mil rate at 12.11 per $1,000 (motion passed 2-0) and voted to allow all three Select Board members to have signing authority on town checks; clerk Lynne will obtain a bank signature card to add Claudia Orff-Reed.
Other administrative approvals recorded in the minutes included accepting a contract for online credit card processing for Rapid Renewal (2-0), signing a quitclaim deed for 16 Lake Farm Circle (Jennifer Hensley, Trustee for the Bush Family Trust), and approving the town expense warrant totaling $150,654.69. The board noted the Alewives contract will be put out to bid after the Nov. 5 election and directed Lynne to schedule weed-whacking for the cattle pound with Josh Sevon.
The minutes record routine unanimous or unanimous recorded votes (2-0). No ordinances were adopted at the meeting; the measures will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot for voter consideration.
