At the July 1 meeting, the Road Commissioner reported progress on ditching work on Egypt Road and that culverts by Footloose Lane had been cleaned. The commissioner also said he had cleared a fallen tree on Sennett Road and would remove an oak tree and place it in the woods.
James Taylor contacted the Road Commissioner to report that plowing had re-routed water and partially washed out part of Jones Road; the commissioner said he will inspect the location. Separately, the board discussed a complaint about damage to Somerville Road caused when McGee unloaded equipment. Select Board member Pamela Grotton said she contacted MMA-Legal, which advised that the town should be able to recover repair costs from the responsible party.
The board directed the Road Commissioner to contact McGee to request that the company clean up or repair the damage. No timetable or estimated repair costs were provided in the minutes.
