The Livermore Falls Select Board moved to reinstate a policy requiring department heads or a representative to attend one meeting each month (technically the second meeting, with scheduling flexibility) to brief the board on recent work, upcoming projects and key operational items. The motion passed and will take effect in July, with staff instructed to note department attendance on agendas and minutes.
Board members said the monthly briefings are intended to keep the board informed without micromanaging department staff. The policy will be implemented beginning with the July meeting cycle; exceptions for scheduling conflicts were discussed and allowed.
