The Boxborough Zoning Board of Appeals reorganized at its June 16 meeting, electing Shawn McCormick as chair (the board agreed the new chairmanship would take effect at the close of the meeting) and appointing Dan Stunts as clerk.
The board discussed a customary two-year rotation for officers and whether to wait for an absent member, Michael Toops. Members encouraged Shawn to serve; a motion to elect Shawn McCormick as chair was made, seconded and carried by roll call. The board then discussed the clerk responsibilities; Dan Stunts volunteered and the board moved and voted to appoint him as clerk.
During the reorganization the board also approved minutes from its Feb. 3, 2026 meeting and briefly discussed the potential use of Zoom transcription technology for minutes. With the reorganization and routine business completed, the board proceeded to a public hearing on a signage application at 25A Stow Road.
Votes were recorded by roll call. The chair noted that, as a matter of practice, the chair would not make motions but would sign decisions when appropriate. The meeting concluded after the board approved a sign permit and addressed a holdover item on recorded meetings. The board adjourned at the end of the session.
Record: Elections and appointments were recorded in the meeting roll call and the board directed standard administrative follow-up (recording appointments, updating board records).
