Catskill trustees approve audited bills, accept cannabis revenue sharing, extend noise ordinance and approve temporary hire

The Village of Catskill Board of Trustees on June 25, 2025 approved several routine but consequential items: payment of audited bills, budget transfers, acceptance of a cannabis revenue sharing agreement with the Town of Catskill, extension of a noise ordinance for the Catskill Yacht Club event on Aug. 8, 2025 (8 p.m.–11 p.m.), and the hiring of Michael Ragaini as a temporary assistant code enforcement officer effective June 3, 2025.
The Board approved payment of audited bills as presented: General Fund A $278,131.26; Water Fund F $68,325.99; Sewer Fund G $20,647.46. Trustees also unanimously approved budget transfers for fiscal year 6/1/2024–5/31/2025.
Other meeting items: the Fire Department presented information on a records-management program the Board will review; the Board heard updates on volunteer firefighter recruitment, DPW consideration of a new sweeper, and a library request for a walking book-reading event (filming scheduled for June 30 and July 1). Trustees also reported meeting with Chief Waer and Senator Hinchey’s office about a CREST grant for a shared ATV for fire and police use.
During public comment, residents raised several concerns: Bill Smith requested approval to surplus truck 311 and discussed a potential boat donation from the City of Hudson; JR Espel encouraged collaboration around a new Sheriff's Office boat; Elliott Matos asked how the cannabis tax operates and raised parking concerns on Main Street during construction; Roz Viemeister raised concerns about commercial signage from Port-of-Call; and Ed Dolan urged action on affordable housing.
The Board adjourned at 7:59 p.m.; the minutes were submitted by Clerk Anna Signoretti and later approved on July 9, 2025.
