Catskill trustees approve bills, accept planning board resignation and authorize Restore NY agreement; enter executive session

The Village of Catskill Board of Trustees convened Feb. 26, 2025, approved routine business and took several administrative actions.
The board unanimously approved the minutes of the Feb. 12 meeting (motion: Trustee Jamie Mitchell; second: Trustee Daniel Ward). It then approved payment of audited bills presented for Feb. 26, 2025; the minutes list totals of General Fund A $35,767.36, Water Fund F $8,532.64 and Sewer Fund G $9,528.04 (mover: Trustee Ward; seconder: Vice President Natasha Law).
Trustee Daniel Ward moved and Trustee Jamie Mitchell seconded a motion to accept the resignation of planning board member Ricky Lark; the board voted unanimously to accept the resignation and to post the vacancy. The board also unanimously authorized the board president to sign a subrecipient agreement with 373 Main St. LLC (representative listed as Ben Fain) for a Restore NY grant project (motion by Trustee Ward; seconded by Vice President Law).
On a motion by Trustee Ward, seconded by Vice President Law, the board voted unanimously to send a letter of support for the Greene County Animal Alliance; the minutes record the motion passed.
During public comment Elliott Matos asked, “has there been any further discussion of vacancy tax,” and also raised a question about a trustee’s absence at board meetings. Resident Roz Veimeister asked for clarification about the occupancy tax adopted earlier in the meeting. The minutes record those questions but do not show additional action on them.
Vice President Natasha Law read a letter from the Catskill Fire Chief regarding the handling of a recent fire; the letter was entered into the record. Later the board entered executive session at 6:47 P.M. to discuss employment-related matters (motion by Trustee Ward; seconded by Trustee Mitchell). The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M. (motion by Trustee Mitchell; seconded by Vice President Law).
