Council authorizes purchase of temporary accessibility ramp for Pikes Peak site up to $1,000

The Little Compton Town Council authorized the town administrator to proceed with a trial of a temporary, foldable accessibility ramp for Pikes Peak and to spend up to $1,000 if a purchase is needed.
Town staff reported that the state Department of Transportation imposes no restriction on a temporary ramp and that an initial free ramp owned by a department head could be used to test the concept. The town will also explore restriping and parking adjustments to add at least one van‑accessible parking spot adjacent to the ramp.
Councilors voted in favor of the motion. The approval is limited to a temporary solution and staff said they will test the ramp before any permanent curb‑cut or permanent ramp is pursued.
