Strasburg council hears $2.2 million estimate for Bodmer waterline, reviews park and utility projects

Village Administrator Mike Rosenberry told the Strasburg Village Council on Oct. 15 that the Bodmer waterline replacement is estimated at about $2.2 million. Rosenberry’s report also outlined several park and utility projects under way or planned, including a roughly $5,000 transformer for the park, AEP and Wood Electric surveying work at the park, and plans to relocate power for the Sibley Mart sign.

Rosenberry said the village received a design loan agreement from the Ohio Water Development Authority and has updated and extended its RFQ for related work. He reported that the inside work for the sewer garage closing is complete, with electrical work and a garage door still to finish, and that six tours of the wastewater treatment plant have been completed with one more scheduled.

The administrator said staff submitted paperwork for a park equipment grant and that Porter Cabling and Pioneer 360 were finishing installation of a Dualcom system at Village Hall. He also listed a series of planned maintenance tasks: leaf clean-up from Nov. 12 through Dec. 12, and hydrant flushing at the end of October and beginning of November.
