The Strasburg Village Council met in special session Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, and voted to enter an executive session to discuss fire department personnel.
At 9:00 a.m., Mayor Bruce Metzger called the meeting to order. Council members Kathy Burrier, Dustin Briggs, Jeff Smith, Wes Hostetler and Martin Zehnder were present; Liz Dreher was absent. Wes Hostetler moved to enter executive session at 9:05 a.m. to discuss fire department personnel; Kathy Burrier seconded the motion. At roll call, all members present voted to approve the motion.
The council reconvened into regular session at 10:15 a.m. The transcript does not record the contents of the executive session.
After returning to open session, Village Administrator Mike Rosenberry explained the process the interview committee will use to select a new fire chief; the transcript records that Rosenberry "explained the process" but does not provide the substance of that explanation.
Before adjourning, Martin Zehnder moved to adjourn at 10:30 a.m.; Dustin Briggs seconded. At roll call, all members present voted approval and the meeting was adjourned. The transcript includes the meeting signature block signed by Mayor Bruce Metzger and Fiscal Officer Jennifer Mahoney.
