The Sonoita Elementary District Governing Board met Jan. 6 in the Elgin School Conference Room and accepted the resignation of David Naugle, effective Dec. 31, 2025, before administering the oath to newly appointed board member Anne Przybyla.
Harry Dotson, board president, moved to accept Naugle’s resignation; Anthony Fennell seconded and the motion carried 5-0. Following the acceptance, Dotson administered the School Board Member Oath of Office to Anne Przybyla, seating her as a board member.
Under Arizona law (A.R.S. §15-321), the board then conducted its annual reorganization. Nancy Webster nominated Harry Dotson for board president; Aaron Thomas seconded. Anthony Fennell nominated Nancy Webster for vice president; Aaron Thomas seconded. Anthony Fennell moved to elect Dotson and Webster; the motion carried with a 3-0-2 tally, as Dotson and Webster recused themselves from the vote because they were nominees.
The board welcomed Przybyla and completed required conflict-of-interest and oath-of-office training materials and signatures.
The board adjourned routine discussion of these governance items and moved on to other agenda approvals.
