York Board of Education approves policies, handbooks and prices for 2025-26

The York Board of Education met July 14, 2025, at the Office of the Superintendent and approved a slate of policy updates, student handbooks and district prices and tuition rates for the 2025-26 school year.
At the meeting, Matt Holthe, Board Member, moved to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2025 meeting; Alex Hildebrand, Board Member, seconded the motion and the board approved it by roll call. The board also approved payment of bills after a motion by Brien Alley, Board Member, seconded by Alison North, Board Member.
Brian Tonniges, Board Member, moved and the board approved the first and final reading of a group of district policies including policy numbers 1002, 2006, 2008, 3003, 3004.1, 3023, 3026, 3036, 3043, 3047, 3057, 4051, 4057, 4059, 5001, 5002, 5003, 5015, 5016, 5031, 5034, 6031, 6034, 6044, and 6045. Matt Holthe seconded the motion; the vote was recorded in roll call with all members voting in the affirmative.
The board approved the 2025-26 student handbooks after a motion by Alison North, seconded by Alex Hildebrand. The board set activity pass prices for 2025-26 at Students $15; Senior Citizens (age 60+) $45; Adults $100; and Family $185 on a motion by Alex Hildebrand, seconded by Alison North.
Meal prices for 2025-26 were set on a motion by Matt Holthe, seconded by Alex Hildebrand: lunch prices will be YES $3.40, YMS $3.50 and YHS $3.50. Tuition rates were confirmed to remain the same for 2025-26—SUCCESS $29,000; SPED II $16,500; Regular Education $12,000; and Regular Education Enrichment Center $13,000—after a motion by Brian Tonniges and a second by Alison North.
The board approved a $1.80 breakfast price for YES, YMS and YHS on a motion by Matt Holthe, seconded by Brien Alley, and set the YES snack milk price at $33 per semester after a motion by Alison North, seconded by Matt Holthe. The agenda item for teacher contracts noted there were none at this time. Routine reports were listed on the agenda, including a notation of John Spatz with NASB and updates on early childhood and the YES Project; the transcript lists these as reports but does not record substantive remarks in the meeting text.
