Holt County awards Redbird Bridge rehabilitation contract to low bidder Garcia-Chicoine

Road Foreman Dave Reiman presented the Road Department activity report June 16, and at 11:30 a.m. the board opened sealed bids for the Redbird Bridge Rehabilitation Project No. C45(575).
Three bids were read: Garcia-Chicoine Enterprises for $151,505 with a September 6, 2026 completion date; JMN Construction for $190,532 (completion December 2026); and Nemaha Infrastructure for $222,648.20 with a 60-calendar-day completion term.
On a motion by Dustin Breiner, seconded by Bill Tielke, the board voted to accept the low bid from Garcia-Chicoine Enterprises for $151,505 "as per bid specifications." The minutes record the motion carried with ayes recorded for Linquist, Neiman, Frahm, Tielke, Breiner and Paxton and no nays noted. Chairman Darrin Paxton adjourned the meeting at 12:15 p.m.
The contract award authorizes county staff to proceed with contracting and scheduling work consistent with the bid documents; the minutes do not detail contract execution steps or payment schedule.
