At its March 16 meeting the Oak Brook Park District Board approved several administrative and contract items and placed the tentative FY 2026–27 budget on public display.
Personnel policy updates required by recent law changes were approved after Commissioner Chan unsuccessfully moved an amendment asking for additional operational reports; Dr. Kosey and Attorney Patrick Miner clarified that the Personnel Policy applies to Park District employees and that background checks are conducted for employees and volunteers but not for contracted coaches. The updates passed on a 3–2 vote.
The Board approved increases to out‑of‑district daily fees and new membership rates as presented, effective May 1, 2026. Commissioner Chan emphasized that daily fees should contribute to long‑term capital replacement since residents finance capital through taxes.
The District approved a settlement agreement with Judiciocracy; Attorney Miner explained the District chose not to litigate and agreed to resubmit fewer redactions on attorney invoices. The settlement vote was unanimous.
The Board accepted a proposal from Direct Fitness Solutions for fitness‑center flooring replacement, not‑to‑exceed $77,527; that motion passed unanimously. The tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance 26‑0420 for May 1, 2026–April 30, 2027 was placed on public display for 30 days with a public hearing scheduled for April 20, 2026; a legal notice will appear in the Doings — Oak Brook Newspaper.
The Board also moved into and out of closed session to conduct a semi‑annual review of closed meeting minutes and to consider personnel matters; Resolution 26‑0422 concerns the review of closed meeting minutes dated January 1989 through February 2026.
