Board accepts unofficial election results and inducts longtime teacher into Hall of Fame

The board announced unofficial election results and approved a Hall of Fame induction during its June 16 meeting.
Clerk reported unofficial results from the school election and congratulated board member Brian Sire on reelection to the rural at‑large seat and Drew Courtney on election to the west of Highway One seat; the results are to be canvassed by the county on June 22 and accepted at the board’s June 29 meeting.
Separately, the Hall of Fame committee, led by former board member Sonia Meal, recommended longtime Oaks Elementary teacher Mrs. Carolyn Crane for induction. The board moved, seconded and unanimously approved the nomination; staff will notify Mrs. Crane and include induction during homecoming activities.
Both items were acted on without extended debate: the election results were presented as unofficial and subject to county canvass, and the Hall of Fame induction was approved by motion.
