The Wymore City Council on June 4 approved several contracts, personnel actions and equipment purchases. The council approved a three-year service contract with Stryker for $12,024 to cover EMS equipment maintenance; the motion to approve was made by Sue Sapp, seconded by Max Allen and carried 4-0.
Council approved the purchase of a 2017 Ford F250 with about 155,000 miles for $19,600 to replace a Water Department truck lost in a shop fire. The motion passed 3-0 with Curt Oblinger recorded as abstaining. Council members said the truck will replace a vehicle destroyed in the shop fire and that additional needed equipment for departments will be prioritized.
Council also authorized posting an open lineman position with a pay range of $25 to $35 per hour depending on experience; that motion was moved by Max Allen, seconded by Sue Sapp and carried 4-0. Other personnel and operations items included decisions to add Police Department updates to the opening agenda and noting one application is under review for Police Chief.
