NVTA staff highlights commuter award, schedules BRT briefings ahead of July 9 vote

At the end of the Planning and Programming Committee meeting on June 18, NVTA staff provided a brief update. Miss Beckman told the committee Virginia was recognized as a top workplace for commuters for the second consecutive year and that staff will present the six-year program to the Authority on July 9 for final action. She said staff is scheduling BRT action-plan briefings to localities and invited members to contact staff with scheduling preferences.
"Yesterday we celebrated Virginia being number one in the nation and Canada for best workplaces for commuters," Miss Beckman said. She asked members to let staff know if they had questions or wished to schedule a briefing.
The committee received the update with no further questions and then adjourned.
