North Haledon awards $414,813.95 road improvement contract to Cifelli & Son

The Borough Council of North Haledon awarded the 2024 Road Improvement Project to Cifelli & Son General Contracting at its July 17 meeting following bid openings on July 16.
Seven bids were received on July 16. The three lowest totals were: Cifelli & Son General Contracting ($318,425.75 base; $78,167.70 alternate A; $18,195.50 alternate B; $414,813.95 total); New Prince Concrete Construction Co. ($418,697.66 total); and D&L Paving Contractors ($424,633.72 total). The Borough Engineer recommended award to Cifelli & Son and the Borough Attorney reviewed and approved the low bid as legally sufficient. The council authorized the Mayor and Borough Clerk to execute a contract subject to receipt of a performance bond. Chief Financial Officer Christopher Battaglia certified available funds under account C-04-24-011-300.
The resolution to award the contract was adopted as part of the consent agenda and passed unanimously. The contract award is subject to the contractor providing the required performance bond and contract documents before work begins.
