Superintendent Dr. Stu Cameron introduced Mark Vaerten as Imlay City Community Schools' new Technology Director at the May 18 meeting, noting Vaerten's associate degree in networking from St. Clair Community College and his prior experience as Technology Director at Brown City Community Schools.
The board also formally accepted the retirement resignation of Weston Elementary teacher Susan McNary effective August 31, 2026. Dr. Cameron noted McNary's 27.5 years of service. Teacher Kristine Thibodeau publicly recognized McNary earlier in the meeting and congratulated her on her retirement.
The minutes record the personnel changes and the district will proceed with onboarding for the new technology director and retiree processing for McNary.
