Vivian Marcus told the Quartzsite Town Council on June 9 she is seeking the council’s support for a La Paz County grant application to place six Free Little Libraries across the county.
"My name is Vivian Marcus ... I'm here tonight representing the Parker Friends of the librarians and I'm asking your support for a project that I'm working on," Marcus said, describing plans to place six small libraries and to register them on state and national maps. She offered to supply the initial books and said volunteers would maintain the boxes.
Council asked staff to add a letter of support to the next agenda so the council can consider formally endorsing Marcus’s grant application before the county deadline.
No formal vote was required at the June 9 meeting; staff said they would put a letter‑of‑support item on an upcoming agenda for council consideration.
