According to the minutes, Chandra Jennings from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services explained a grant opportunity aimed at staff training and workforce development. Auditor Lisa Frederiksen told supervisors the county would need to provide $30,000 to potentially receive $10,000; supervisors requested additional information and took no action at the meeting.
Frederiksen also stressed meeting-process rules, reminding supervisors that discussions about potential decisions should occur in public meetings rather than via separate private contacts. The board did not commit county funds at the March 4 session.
