The Cudahy Common Council unanimously approved an ordinance Dec. 20 to rezone two parcels on East Grange Avenue to allow limited manufacturing uses.
Economic Development Director Biernat presented a staff recommendation to change the base zoning of 3618 E Grange (Parcel #6350434) and 3620 E Grange (Parcel ID #6350435000) from B-2 Community Business to M-1 Limited Manufacturing and to eliminate the existing overlay zoning to “facilitate highest and best use” of the properties. Mayor John Hohenfeldt opened the public hearing at 7:05 P.M.; no members of the public spoke and the hearing closed at 7:09 P.M.
The council introduced and passed Ordinance No. 2444 on a motion by Alderperson Moralez, seconded by Alderperson Johnson; the roll call vote was recorded as unanimous. The ordinance changes the zoning classifications for the two described lots and removes the overlay zoning noted in the staff materials. The legal descriptions of the parcels are recorded in the ordinance and in materials on file with the Economic Development Director.
Because the minutes record the proceeding as a public hearing with no speakers, there are no direct public comments to quote. The council did not specify an effective date in the minutes; implementation details and any required follow-up (such as map updates) are in the city’s zoning map files and the Economic Development Director’s office.
