The Cudahy Common Council approved a tentative agreement and then ratified a two-year contract with the Cudahy Professional Police Association covering Jan. 1, 2017, through Dec. 31, 2018. The council also adopted Ordinance No. 2211.7, which fixes salary and fringe benefits for association members for 2017–2018.
At the Jan. 17 meeting, Ald. Hollenbeck moved to approve the tentative agreement; Ald. Litkowiec seconded the motion and the roll-call vote carried unanimously. The subsequent ratification of the contract was moved by Ald. Hollenbeck and seconded by Ald. St. Marie-Boelkow; that motion also carried on a unanimous roll-call vote. Later in the meeting, Ald. Johnson moved to adopt Ordinance No. 2211.7; Ald. Litkowiec seconded and the ordinance passed unanimously.
The actions formalize the labor agreement between the city and its police bargaining unit and implement the salary and fringe provisions included in the ordinance. The minutes record no dissenting votes or public comment on these items.
The council took these actions as part of its regular meeting agenda; there were no further amendments recorded to the contract or ordinance at the session. The motions were recorded as carried by roll call.
