At its June 3 meeting the Hobart Board of Public Works and Safety approved a series of infrastructure and property actions and ratified a bid solicitation for solid waste services.
The Board accepted a Warranty Deed for Parcel 32 as part of the Hickey Street improvement project and approved Supplemental Agreement No. 4 for construction inspection of Cressmoor Estates phases 2, 5, 8 and 9 after City Engineer Alex Metz said reimbursement funds needed an $80,000 increase to cover the work. Both motions passed unanimously (3-0).
The Board also approved a request to pave a parking pad at 3036 W. Old Ridge Road on the condition that the owner meet all city zoning, drainage and right-of-way requirements; City Engineer Alex Metz said he saw no issue with the installation. A tree-removal request at 6434 Grosbeak Court was approved after resident John Rosenbaum said two tree roots had buckled the sidewalk and damaged the area by a neighbor’s storm sewer; the Board permitted the property owner to remove the trees at his expense and to repair the sidewalk once the trees were removed (3-0).
Mrs. Longer said Public Works Superintendent Kent Moore assisted with a bid package for solid waste disposal services because the current contract expires in early July; bids were advertised and set to be due on June 15.
All motions in these administrative items passed by unanimous votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
