The Hobart Board of Public Works and Safety on June 3 approved a professional services agreement with TSC Facility Services LLC and ratified a contract with Satellite Shelters, Inc. to provide on-site inspection and a construction trailer for upcoming data center construction.
Mayor Robert Huddlestun said the TSC contract is intended to provide project inspection services “to create ‘city hall 2.0’ on the data center site” and to be on hand for inspections, deliveries, traffic coordination and communications with police and fire whenever construction is in process. The agreement covers both data center sites and the nearby NIPSCO site, he said.
Mrs. Longer moved to approve the TSC agreement; Ms. Galka seconded the motion and the Board voted 3-0 to approve it. The Board then ratified a Satellite Shelters agreement to place a mobile office on the site for project inspectors, also by a 3-0 vote.
The Board did not discuss contract dollar amounts during the public meeting. The approvals establish an on-site inspection presence and a dedicated mobile office intended to streamline contractor coordination and city oversight during construction.
The Board adjourned at 3:59 p.m.
