Cudahy Common Council approves minutes, honors two long-serving volunteers

At its Jan. 3, 2017 meeting the Common Council of the City of Cudahy approved routine consent items and minutes, unanimously adopted two resolutions recognizing Bill Mani and Dean Nelson for long service, and adjourned after about seven minutes.
The Common Council of the City of Cudahy convened at 7:00 P.M. on Jan. 3, 2017 at the Cudahy Municipal Building and completed its agenda in roughly seven minutes. Mayor John Hohenfeldt called the meeting to order and the open meeting certification was read.
The council approved the consent agenda on a motion by Alderperson St. Marie-Boelkow, seconded by Alderperson Johnson. Items approved under consent included minutes from the Personnel Committee (Dec. 20, 2016), the Finance Committee (Dec. 20, 2016) and the Community Development Authority (Nov. 22, 2016). The roll-call vote on the consent agenda was recorded as unanimous among members present.
A separate motion to approve the Common Council minutes from Dec. 20, 2016 was moved by Alderperson Litkowiec and seconded by Alderperson Johnson. On the roll call Alderpersons Moralez, Johnson, Litkowiec and St. Marie-Boelkow voted yes; Alderperson Hollenbeck abstained, and the motion carried.
The council then adopted two ceremonial resolutions. Resolution No. 7092 recognized Bill Mani for his years of service on the City of Cudahy Traffic & Safety Commission; Alderperson Hollenbeck moved approval and Alderperson St. Marie-Boelkow seconded, and the resolution passed unanimously. Resolution No. 7093 recognized Dean Nelson for 24 years of service to the Cudahy Fire Department; Alderperson Moralez moved approval and Alderperson Hollenbeck seconded, and the resolution passed unanimously.
No members of the public offered comment during the meeting. Alderperson Litkowiec moved to adjourn, Alderperson Johnson seconded, and the council adjourned at 7:07 P.M. The minutes were later certified as passed and approved on Jan. 17, 2017, and bear the signatures of Mayor John Hohenfeldt and City Clerk Dennis Broderick.
