Cudahy council approves consent agenda, OKs temporary licenses and resolves two claims

At its Sept. 6 meeting the Cudahy Common Council approved its consent agenda, granted two Temporary Class B retailer licenses and a parade permit, authorized sale of surplus fire-department radio equipment, and adopted two resolutions resolving claims.
The Cudahy Common Council met Sept. 6, 2016, at the Cudahy Municipal Building and approved its consent agenda, granted two Temporary Class B retailer licenses, approved a parade permit for Cudahy High School and adopted two resolutions addressing claims.
The council, chaired by Mayor John Hohenfeldt, opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and approved the agenda after certifying compliance with open meeting law. The consent agenda — which included minutes of the Finance Committee (Aug. 16), the Personnel Committee (Aug. 16), the Claims Committee (Sept. 2), the Community Development Authority minutes (July 26) and claims ending Aug. 31, 2016 totaling $511,581.47 — was approved by motion with a unanimous roll call.
On separate items the council approved minutes from the regular Aug. 16 meeting on a motion by Alderperson Moralez, seconded by Alderperson Litkowiec; the roll-call vote on that item recorded Alderpersons Moralez and Litkowiec voting “aye” and Alderperson Hollenbeck abstaining. The council also approved two Temporary Class B Retailers Licenses: one for the Cudahy Family Library Endowment Fund’s Oct. 21 Harvest Tasting and one for Nativity of the Lord Congregation’s Oct. 22 Spaghetti Dinner. Both license votes were recorded with Alderpersons Moralez and Litkowiec voting “aye” and Alderperson Hollenbeck abstaining.
A parade permit requested by the Cudahy High School Student Council for Sept. 29 was approved unanimously (motion by Alderperson Hollenbeck, second by Alderperson Litkowiec). The council also approved the mayor’s appointments to various city boards, commissions and committees and authorized the Fire Department to sell surplus radio equipment to Wiscomm; both motions carried on unanimous votes.
The council considered two resolutions addressing claims: it adopted Resolution No. 7064, “A Resolution Approving Claim of Walter Schmidt,” and Resolution No. 7065, “A Resolution Denying Claim of Sharon A. Reetz.” Both resolutions were approved on motions by Alderperson Hollenbeck, seconded by Alderperson Litkowiec, with unanimous roll-call votes.
There were no public hearings or public comments recorded on agenda items or during the general public-comment period. The council adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
