Heard County Receives StormReady Recognition; Commissioners Issue Two Proclamations and Approve Transit Van Use

At its April 28 meeting the Heard County Board of Commissioners accepted a StormReady plaque and road signs from the National Weather Service recognizing the county’s enrollment in Georgia’s StormReady Program.
Chairman Lee Boone presented a proclamation to fifth-grade student Kainnan Lindsey of Heard Elementary School honoring his recent achievements in Tae Kwon Do, and the board also read and approved a proclamation declaring April 2015 to be National Donate Life Month on a motion by Commissioner Larry Hooks, seconded by Commissioner Keri Denney.
Kathy Knowles of the Heard County Community Partnership briefed the board on upcoming Chamber and community events and requested use of a county transit van for the July 4 celebration; the board approved the request unanimously (mover: Adams; seconder: Hooks).
