The Heard County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 24 unanimously reappointed William Gregory to the Heard County Planning Commission and appointed Randy Chesnut to fill an open seat.
Chairman Lee Boone said Gregory’s term was set to expire around the first of March and that Gregory wished to be reappointed. On a motion by Commissioner Joe Adams, seconded by Commissioner Larry Hammond, the board voted unanimously to reappoint Gregory.
In related business the board noted that Danny Smith’s term expired on Jan. 31, 2015 and that Smith no longer lives in Heard County, making him ineligible for reappointment. Commissioner Larry Hooks moved and Commissioner Keri Denney seconded a motion to appoint Randy Chesnut to replace Smith; the motion passed unanimously.
The motions were recorded as unanimous approvals; no abstentions were noted. The board took both actions during regular agenda items and did not hold separate hearings on the appointments.
The meeting record does not specify term lengths for the reappointment or the newly filled seat.
