Massena approves $40,000 host-site agreement for national pro fishing event

The board also moved $22,000 from a publicity contractual line to a fishing-tournament publicity subaccount to cover overruns tied to tournament promotion.
Town officials said the agreements are intended to support event operations and promotion; a representative from the chamber attended via Zoom and was listed in the meeting attendance. The Town Attorney reviewed and modified an escrow agreement related to event host obligations; the board approved that escrow agreement later in the meeting.
A representative from a local organization, NCCS, presented a draft agreement during the closing comment period offering to help fund the town’s review of their pending application, though no formal connection between that draft and the host-site agreement was recorded in minutes.
The board’s approvals were recorded as formal resolutions: the host-site agreement (Resolution 109-2026) and the escrow agreement (Resolution 114-2026). The meeting minutes list motions and unanimous roll-call votes for both items.
