Beardstown council reviews July financials and ambulance statistics

The Beardstown City Council received and filed routine financial reports and ambulance statistics during its Aug. 20 meeting, approving the consent agenda by roll call vote.
City Clerk Brian Ruch reported July cash receipts of $1,922,285.89 and cash disbursements of $1,054,155.81; fiscal-year-to-date May 1–April totals were receipts $4,608,281.19 and disbursements $3,465,845.33. The City Treasurer reported fund balances including General Fund $3,215,615.29; Special Revenue Funds $4,203,907.80; Bond Sinking Funds $704,188.43; Water Increment Fund $213,518.67; Adequate Assurance Fund $119,099.50; ARPA Grant $745,979.14; Harbor Development Fund $119,362.18; and Marina Campground Fund $1,961.38.
The council recorded overtime and part-time pay totals for July 2024: Ambulance $23,559.11; Fire $4,609.38; Police $11,032.41; Public Works/Cemetery/City Hall $21,023.62.
Ambulance service reports showed the Beardstown unit responded to 75 calls in July 2024 with total charges of $66,960.00, collections of $32,699.93 and county taxes $122,791.36; total adjustments were $40,929.17. The Virginia unit reported 34 calls with charges of $32,046.00, collections $22,670.14, county taxes $113,345.88 and adjustments $19,121.42.
The routine reports were approved and filed under a consent-agenda motion moved by Alderperson Mary Davis and seconded by Alderperson Eric Harbin. No public comment on the financial or ambulance reports was recorded.
