The Beardstown City Council approved the purchase of a John Deere 30G Excavator for the City Cemetery for $37,229.91 at its Oct. 22 meeting.
The action came on a motion by Ald. Dawn Seward, seconded by Ald. Keith Schramm. The motion stated, "That the purchase of a John Deere 30G Excavator in the amount of $37,229.91 for the City Cemetery be approved." The motion passed by a 7–0 roll call vote; Ald. Chris Baer was absent.
