Beardstown Council adopts fiscal 2025 appropriation ordinance

The motion to adopt the ordinance was made by Alderperson Ron Culves and seconded by Alderperson Eric Harbin; Alderperson Shawn Taylor was recorded as absent.
The ordinance vote came after the council approved routine minutes and filed the consent agenda. City Clerk Brian Ruch reported June cash receipts of $1,585,191.80 and cash disbursements of $1,244,759.64; 12‑month totals (May 1–April 30) were listed as $2,685,995.30 in receipts and $2,411,689.52 in disbursements. The City Treasurer provided fund balances for June 2024, including a General Fund balance of $3,093,804.79 and Special Revenue Funds totaling $3,460,232.00.
The council also recorded overtime and part‑time payroll totals for June 2024: Ambulance $22,916.68; Fire $3,588.91; Police $12,100.21; and Public Works/Cemetery/City Hall $16,360.24. The meeting packet and omnibus vote designation were filed as part of the consent process.
The ordinance was adopted by roll call: Baer, Buhlig, Culves, Davis, Harbin, Schramm and Seward voting yea; no nays were recorded. The council adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
