Superintendent’s Chief School Business Official Dr. Kaylor told the board that the district’s first tax payment for the fiscal year was about $600,000 less than the same payment last year and that some state revenue collections had been delayed. "We expect another tax payment around June 25 or 26," he said, adding that the board may need to consider a second amendment depending on that next payment.
Board members asked whether the shortfall reflected a permanent revenue drop; Dr. Kaylor said it appears to be a timing issue caused by late submissions of banking information and collection delays, and that overall distributions shown on the tax‑distribution statement remain comparable to last year.
A separate line on the packet’s "red flag" report showed "zero days cash on hand" for May; the entry appeared to be an error that Dr. Kaylor acknowledged and said would be corrected in the next month’s report.
