Council moved to approve the consent agenda (including the Aug. 1 minutes and bills to date) and recorded vendor disbursements across multiple payees. The meeting minutes list a total of $572,763.09 in payments, including a $277,573.05 payment to Myers Construction Co. The council also set the Budget Workshop for Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. and adopted Resolution 2024-08, the Municipal Annual Certification of Program Compliance to the Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classifications and Standards, which City Clerk Jennifer Waterhouse said is the annual step to secure Highway Allocation Funds.
During public comment, a reporter from the Custer County Chief asked about excusing absent members. The council voted to excuse Councilmember Paul Holland. The meeting adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
