The Broken Bow City Council on Aug. 13 approved a conditional use permit allowing Industrial Tower West to build a replacement cell tower at 44100 Memorial Drive. Zoning Administrator Jacob Holcomb said questions identified at the July 9 meeting had been addressed; JEO revised the construction plans to require that the future sewer contractor install shoring or trench boxes to protect the tower site during work.
Theresa Sweigart, representing Tower West, told the council the new tower will remain within the same footprint and that Tower West's construction crew will erect a temporary cell on wheels to keep service running while the old tower is removed and the new tower erected. Water/Sewer Superintendent Ryan Jones said his earlier concerns were resolved under the revised plans. The council closed the public hearing and approved the conditional use permit by roll call vote with Councilmembers Russ Smith and Luke Wassom voting aye.
No additional mitigation or bonding requirements were recorded in the meeting minutes.
