Council approves Class I liquor license for Carmen's Inc., DBA Tumbleweed Café

The Broken Bow City Council on Aug. 13 approved a Class I liquor license for Carmen's Inc., doing business as the Tumbleweed Café. City Administrator Dave Schmidt said the application reflects a new collaboration between owner Carmen Bumgarner and the Ax Kickers business in Broken Bow.
Bumgarner told the council she plans to operate a bar on the west end of the building, serve food in the evenings roughly from 5:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and limit patrons to two drinks; she said alcohol service will be confined to the west end and not in the Tumbleweed Café. The council closed the public hearing and approved the license on a roll call vote with Councilmembers Russ Smith and Luke Wassom voting aye and no nays recorded.
No additional conditions beyond the operational limits described at the hearing were specified by the council.
