The Broken Bow City Council on July 9, 2024, approved Change Order 1 for the Eagle Crest Subdivision project in the amount of $65,357. The motion, made by Councilmember Russ Smith and seconded by Councilmember Paul Holland, passed with aye votes from Smith, Wassom and Holland; Councilmember Chris Myers abstained.
Ryan Kavan of JEO explained that the change order covers an extension of storm sewer pipe by 350 feet beyond the originally proposed terminus at Linden Drive. The work includes 75 feet of 24-inch pipe and 275 feet of 18-inch pipe, backfilling an existing ditch with pipe and soil, installation of inlets, and extending the line across Hillcrest Drive. The additional piping will allow the city to connect to the line in the future if it decides to install a storm sewer along Hillcrest Drive.
Council members asked procedural questions; no amendments to the dollar amount were proposed during the meeting. Councilmember Myers recorded an abstention on the roll-call vote.
