The City of Broken Bow Council voted on July 9, 2024, to approve Resolution 2024-06, authorizing the sale of surplus real property described as Lot Six and the north half of Lot Seven in Block Twelve of Jewett & Lilly's Addition to Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska. The motion to approve the resolution was moved by Councilmember Paul Holland and seconded by Councilmember Luke Wassom and passed on a roll-call vote.
Under the approved terms, the council set a minimum bid of $6,500. The resolution requires the successful bidder to remediate the property's nuisance status within 60 days of deed transfer. Sealed bids must be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on August 23, 2024; bids will be opened at the city council meeting on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Mayor Rod Sonnichsen explained the item was a republication and re-submission of a previously passed resolution (Resolution 2024-04) that needed correction for a publishing error. The action restores the sale process with clarified deadlines and remediation conditions for bidders. No amendments or alternate minimums were offered during the meeting.
