The Governing Board ratified personnel actions and recognized staff and a student during its March 10 meeting.
The Board ratified hires including Stephanie Gutierrez (Special Education paraprofessional and Non‑CDL van driver role listed), Brianna Looney and Bill Predgo as track-and-field assistant coaches, and Jessica Sanchez as Non‑CDL school van driver. The Board also approved the appointment of James Anway as Mt. Vista K‑8 School principal, effective July 1, 2025, and accepted the retirement notice of Frank Gallardo, effective June 30, 2025. The Board moved and approved the personnel item by motion.
In her superintendent report, Jessica Nehrmeyer said the district will purchase a smaller 14‑passenger bus to better navigate Linda Vista; a new bus route tied to that vehicle will be added for the 2025–26 school year. Nehrmeyer also noted that Mr. Predgo, who made a Call to the Public in February, was encouraged to apply for the coaching vacancy and appears among the personnel ratifications.
The Board recognized Leo Martinez, fleet mechanic, as the district’s Exceptional Employee for March 2025 and recognized first‑grader Katalina Hinojos as Exceptional Student of the Month.
All personnel and recognition items were approved without recorded opposition; Jeri Taylor was listed as absent and excused on the roll call.
